Resident Evil Requiem: Hand Grenade Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Hand Grenades are Leon Kennedy's primary crowd-control explosive in Resident Evil Requiem — chunky, reliable, and available in two strengths.

There are 15 confirmed Hand Grenade locations across East Raccoon City, the ARK, and the Care Center, all being documented on the Resident Evil Requiem interactive maps with exact room names and access conditions.

Grace Ashcroft cannot use or craft grenades — they're Leon-exclusive throwables.

Hand Grenade vs Stacked Hand Grenade: What's the Difference?

The Stacked Hand Grenade has double the damage output and explosion radius of a regular Hand Grenade.

It is literally two grenades attached together — the name describes it exactly. Two world-found Stacked Hand Grenades appear in East Raccoon City: one on the stove on the second floor of a building, one in a metal case hanging from a fence (shoot it down, go around the containers to collect it).

Additional Stacked Grenades can be crafted by combining two standard Hand Grenades from your inventory.

Save Stacked Grenades for boss encounters or the dense zombie clusters in ARK corridors, where the wider explosion radius clears multiple targets in a single throw.

How to Craft Hand Grenades

Hand Grenades can be crafted with 1x Scrap and 2x Gunpowder (Large).

The recipe requires two Large Gunpowder — a common point of confusion since the Shotgun Shell recipe only needs one.

Inventory Tip: Three Grenades, One Slot

Within Leon's inventory, up to three Hand Grenades can occupy the same 2x1 slot.

This means accumulating a grenade stockpile costs far less inventory space than most players expect — three grenades take no more room than one.

Prioritise world-found grenades over crafted ones when you have Large Gunpowder to spare for Shotgun Shells or Rifle Ammo instead.

Guaranteed Drop: The Chunky Enemy in the Care Center Attic

The large zombie enemy in the Care Center Attic drops Hand Grenade x2 on defeat across all difficulty levels.

This is the only guaranteed enemy-drop source for grenades in the game.

One additional Insanity-only Hand Grenade spawns on the table next to the Chunk enemy in the same area. Both are tagged in the checklist with their specific conditions.

All 15 Locations by Area

East Raccoon City is the heaviest region with 9 locations: a briefcase on a desk in Logistics Warehouse 1F, a silver case after climbing a nearby ladder, a briefcase hanging from a metal beam (shoot the band to drop it), a silver case in the back of a truck, a Hand Grenade x2 cluster on crates after going through Willis Tower, one next to a headless corpse at the Gas Station, two Stacked Hand Grenades as described above.

The ARK has 2 locations: one on a small wheeled table next to a cardboard box, and one on a console.

The Care Center has 4 locations: Director's Office desk, Chapel crate, the guaranteed Chunky drop x2, and the Insanity-only table spawn.

For players who want to skip grenade management entirely, the RPG-7 is available for 15,000 CP from the Special Content shop.
